REN Invisible Pores Detox Mask Review

I received this little sample-sized treat from REN, in my Durban Blogger Meet goodie bag, and I am slightly uuhbsessed with it!

So what is it??
Well, it’s simply a clay mask that’s designed to draw out impurities, eliminate blackheads and reduces the size of your pores.

The clay based formula is rich in minerals which encourages the renewal of skin cells and helps to regulate the production of sebum. It basically aims to leave your skin looking clean whilst feeling soft and smooth.

So does it really work?
Yes, yes and yes. I apply a small amount to my cleansed face and neck, wait for it to dry and then rinse off. The directions advise that you should rub the mask off and then rinse, but I find that you get the same result by just rinsing – so anything goes :).

I found that after using the mask, the larger pores on my cheeks were less noticeable and my face on the whole looked much brighter and cleaner. I can’t really say much about the blackhead eliminating aspect, as I didn’t really have any blackheads to begin with. The only thing I didn’t enjoy about the mask is that it did make my face slightly dry and tight but after slapping on some facial oil it felt much, much better.

And is it suitable for acne prone skin?
Aaah, I feel extremely glad to say that it is. I got about 5 uses from this little 5ml sample, and at no stage did I experience a breakout of any kind – yup, totally awesome!

So it’s worth the buy then?
Definitely. At just R340 for a 50ml bottle, it’s totally worth it and it’s also a great alternative to Dermalogica’s Sebum Clearing Masque (and cheaper too!) ! Basically, a great mask at a great price. High five REN!
