Great Gatsby {OOTD}

Themed parties are really fun because like most girls, I love any opportunity to dress up and wear something that I usually wouldn’t wear on an average weekend.

This Great Gatsby inspired OOTD was for a 1920’s themed birthday party that I attended last weekend. Everything got so crazy so quickly that I didn’t get a chance to do a proper shoot outside, so you guys basically have to deal with these images that aren’t as well lit as my other photos – sorry!!

For this OOTD, I chose to wear my pearl-encrusted Peter Pan collared shirt because it fitted the theme perfectly and I’m obsessed with it too!

For my bottoms, I opted for my tulle skirt which I’ve only worn once before. And even though a tulle skirt with this much of volume is more 50’s/60’s than 20’s, I felt that it just worked much better than a straight skirt would’ve.

Initially, I planned not to wear a scarf as it was mostly family at the event but I felt guilty afterwards and decided to wear a turban instead. I spruced up my turban with a Great Gatsby inspired headpiece that I made from a few feathers, a fancy shank button and a brooch.

I wasn’t too sure on which pair of heels I’d be wearing but I finally decided to go for a pair of pointed, black t-bar heels from Madison New York, which did really well at complementing the look.

I accessorized with a beautiful pair of pearl/diamante earrings along with the matching pearl/diamanté ring that I purchased from Truworths. For my bag, I decided to downsize and wore this stunning diamanté clutch from Forever New.
