If you’re an oversleeper, a busy mom or just lazy to spend time on makeup in the morning, then this post will definitely take your fancy!
I’m part of the former category and oversleeping is an everyday occurrence for me (it’s because I’m up all night compiling blog posts 😌), so this post is basically my everyday beauty routine that gets me out the house on time.
Step 1: Cleanse (1minute and 30seconds)
No matter how late I am, I never ever start my day or leave the house without cleansing my skin first.
I use my trusty Bee Naturals Cleansing Balm to cleanse my face and neck. It not only removes any oily residue or bacteria that may have built up during the night but creates a clean canvas to work with and refreshes tired skin too.
Step 2: Sunblock (30Seconds)
I can not even stress just how important sunblock is. It protects your skin from the harmful rays of the sun and prevents the sun from darkening any dark marks – if you have dark marks, that are a year old, which haven’t gotten lighter and you don’t use sunblock, now you know why!
I use Dermalogica’s Oil Free Matte Block or Avène’s High Protection Sunblock, both of which are great choices!
Step 3: BB Cream or Concealer (30 Seconds)
If you have blemishes, acne or dark marks, use a concealer to cover these up. Just a dab it on with your ring finger and blend.
If an uneven skin tone or dull skin are amongst your only concerns, skip the concealer and apply a pea-sized amount of BB cream to your face and neck – it’s an instant pick-me-up for your skin!
Step 4: Curl lashes + Mascara + Eyeliner (1minute and 30seconds)
3 pumps of the lash curler on each set of upper lashes followed by 2 coats of mascara on your upper lashes and 1 coat on your lower lashes is your first step to opening up and defining your eyes.
Next I like to line the lower waterline with a shimmery, nude eye pencil which further opens up the eyes and creates a bright-eyed look. And I finish it off with a swipe of a dark brown eye pencil on the lower lash lines which define the eyes and enhances the effect of the shimmery nude pencil.
Step 5: Cherry or pink lips (30seconds)
Depending on your preference, select either a pink-toned lip balm such as the Maybelline BabyLips in Pink Punch or a red-hued one like the Maybelline BabyLips in Cherry Me. Either of these will work great as it boasts an insane colour payoff, intense moisture for the lips and works well with almost any skin-tone.
Step 6: Blush or Highlighter (30seconds)
I love using a highlighter (either Smashbox’s Fusion Soft Lights or Stila’s Liquid Luminizer in Kitten) on my cheeks, forehead and bridge of my nose. I find that it adds a dewy and radiant finish to the skin.
However, if you favour blush over highlighter, a quick swirl of cream blush on both the apples of your cheeks and just above it can really give the skin a rosy, just-pinched look!
And that’s it! My 5-minute everyday beauty routine that will definitely get you out the house in no time at all!
