Blush + Gray {OOTD}

Hiii guys!

I’ve finally got down to blogging again and I must say, it feels really good! I’m back now and hopefully you guys can expect posts from me, either twice or thrice a week!
For my second blog post for this week, I thought I’d share with you guys one of my very recent and favorite OOTD’s that I wore to the beach – I know, a funnel neck isn’t really beach attire, but it works, so who really cares?

Will you be attending Decorex Durban?

Even though I love fashion, interior décor and design never really interested me – until recently.

In 2013, I decided to redecorate my bedroom and ever since then, I haven’t stopped looking at various IG pages and Pinterest boards that focus on interior décor and design – there’s just something about looking at all of those beautiful homes, rooms and closets and becoming hopeful that one day, you too could have your fabulous interiors featured on an IG page or Pinterest board.

Tried and Tested: Best affordable lip balm for dry, chapped lips

A while ago, I told you guys all about the Blistex Simplex and Sensitive Lip Balm which really did wonders for my dry, chapped lips – it even reversed the darkness on my lips caused by a lipgloss that I tried out. Anyway, even though I really loved it, I felt that paying +/- R50 for 5ml balm that only lasts me about 2 months wasn’t really worth it. So I set out to find its dupe . And lo and behold, I did.

My new go-to treatment for reducing dark marks, acne scars and combatting breakouts

Pigmentation, acne scars and dark marks haunt almost everyone one of us. We find them unsightly and a self-esteem killer, so we feel forced into wearing makeup to cover them up because most of the products that claim to lighten marks either don’t work or contain harmful chemicals, like hydroquinone, which is a big no-no!

For a while I used the Lavender and Myrrh Facial Healing Oil from The Victorian Garden and even though it did help to lighten marks, minimal results could only be seen after 3-6 months of daily use.
I finally decided to try out the Milk Peel from Dermaceutic as I had heard tons about it from others, on how it lightened their marks and just gave them great skin overall.

My Skin Journey with Dermaceutic and Dr Ridhwana Vawda

If you’ve been following my blog since its inception in 2013, then you are definitely aware of the battle that I’ve been fighting in regard to my skin.
My skin is very much prone to breakouts and is so reactive that most products do not agree to it. During Ramadaan (June/July), my skin took a turn for the worse and I broke out on my forehead, cheeks, jawline and even on my chin – it was just total insanity.

I finally decided that it was time for a change and as fate may have it, I made that decision just a few days before I attended Dr Ridhwana Vawda + Dermaceutic’s Promo Day.

Rain Africa Event 2015

I cannot believe that it’s been so long since I’ve updated Veiled Beauty. I had so many posts already written up, including a review on some POND’S, Tressemè and Nature’s Carnival goodies, and had snapped all the relevant photos for VB too – unfortunately, my dearest camera, with the above mentioned photos, and my laptop, with all of the posts, was stolen and I basically lost everything.

I’ve been so bummed about it that I couldn’t bring myself to blog or take photos for any new blog posts, solely because I have to use this crappy iPhone camera after I’ve gotten so used to my DSLR 😔.
Anyway, I’m trying to move past it now and hopefully will be more regular here on VB. Also, I do apologize if my blog photos, from this post onwards, are kind off sucky, but it really is the thief’s fault. On to the event..

Durban Fashion Fair 2015 Roundup + Backstage Photos

If you’re active on social media or just generally aware of what’s going in the world, particularly SA (like you should be!), then you’re bound to have heard of Durban Fashion Fair that was held last week.

Besides the pop-up stores, DFF hosted various fashion shows featuring designs from local and international designers including Jamal Taslaq from Rome, Thula Sindi and Life by Andre Martin, to name a few, that took place this past Wednesday through Saturday – and the guys over at MAC cosmetics were cool enough to invite me for all of the shows, so I really did get to experience it for myself.
